Which Haverford do you mean?
There is Haverford Township in Delaware County, whose centre is Havertown, and there is the Main Line village of Haverford further up Lancaster Avenue, which straddles the county line and sits partly in Montgomery County. Haverford College sits on that seam.
This is not pedantry. It decides which municipality you ask about a permit, which police department turns up if a truck blocks a street, and which set of local rules applies to an event. Give us the street address and we work it out from there. The wider picture is on service areas.

What does a porta potty cost in Haverford?
Typical ranges, reviewed July 2026, market bands rather than a quote. Standard units are $125 to $250 for a weekend and $125 to $325 a month on a jobsite. A deluxe flushing unit sits roughly $75 to $150 above, and weekly servicing runs $30 to $60.
At 27 minutes the delivery line stays low. What moves a Haverford quote is almost always the placement rather than the mileage. Full detail on what rentals cost.

The tree canopy is a real constraint here
Older Main Line streets carry mature trees that overhang the roadway, and a service truck with a boom or a raised tank has a height it cannot get under. The unit itself is not the problem: a standard cabin runs about 44 by 48 inches with a 92 inch height on the common manufacturer models, so it goes almost anywhere.
The truck is the problem, and so are the driveways. A lot of Havertown and Brookline housing sits on twin lots with short, narrow drives and a hedge on one side, which means a placement that looks obvious on a map turns into a three point turn on the day.
Two things worth saying at the quote stage: whether there is a low branch line, and whether the drive is shared. A rear yard drop is fine, but at 150 to 200 pounds empty a walked in placement is a two person job and we price it as one.

Permits in Haverford Township
Haverford Township sets its own rules, and Pennsylvania sets none statewide, so anything on public ground or in the right-of-way is a township question. If your address falls on the Montgomery County side of the village, it is a different township again, which is why the street matters.
Private property placements are generally clear across this region. Philadelphia's route, where portable toilet permits come from the Department of Public Health under its infectious waste program, applies inside that city only and not out here. See permit requirements.
Campus, school and township events
Haverford College runs its own grounds and its own vendor access, and the township's parks and school fields book through Haverford Township rather than through us. Ask them first, then call us with a confirmed date.
For a public event, plan one unit per 50 guests over four hours, add 15 to 20 percent where alcohol is served, and include at least one ADA accessible unit, which measures near 62 inches square because the 2010 ADA Standards require a 60 inch turning space in section 304.3.1. The sizing calculator handles the arithmetic, and ADA restroom requirements covers how many accessible units a larger event needs.
For a garden party rather than a field day, most Haverford customers move to a restroom trailer, which parks like a vehicle and reads like one.
Renovation work on old housing stock
Haverford Township housing is mostly pre-war and inter-war, which produces a steady run of kitchen, bathroom and third-floor work rather than new build. Those jobs run six weeks to six months with a single unit on the driveway.
Ask for monthly rates past about ten days, and see home renovation rentals for how the servicing schedule usually gets set. Where a crew is on site, OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) requires one toilet for 20 or fewer workers, and washing facilities come separately under OSHA 1926.51(f). Most house jobs are under that threshold, but a handwashing station is still the right call in summer.
Servicing follows ANSI/PSAI Z4.3, the industry standard for non-sewered waste disposal systems, at one visit a week under normal use.
